SCHOOL READINESS
Our School Readiness small group tutoring sessions are designed to give children a head start, and the confidence they need to have a smooth transition to school. Lessons are engaging and fun whilst targeting your child’s developmental age.

What to expect?
Hop Skip Jump Learning School Readiness sessions give children the tools and support they need to be prepared for their first year of school.
Our School Readiness lessons cover the basic foundations of both literacy and numeracy whilst also targeting some key social and emotional skills they will learn in a group setting. Children are also introduced to areas of the Prep Curriculum which will give them the confidence they need to start big school.
Skills Taught
Early Reading Skills: Phonological awareness (sound and letter recognition) and vocabulary.
Early Writing Skills: Letter and number formations, fine/gross motor skills and pencil grip.
Early Numeracy: Number recognition (1-10), counting (1-20), and mathematical language.
Social: Listening skills, organisational skills, turn taking and following instructions.

A bit more…
Groups are limited to smaller numbers to accommodate effective learning. All sessions will be capped at 3 children and are taken by experienced primary school teachers.
These groups are ideal for 4-year-old, and 5-year-old children who are in the year before starting Prep. Priority will be given to these children.
